Secret bear hunt uncovers hidden rock cave and skeletons
Velva North Dakota July 20 Emil Sel Berg rural mail carrier and George McKnight while hunting for a large black bear discovered a secluded rock cave 50 feet from the surface blocked by a heavy stone slab. Inside they found two adult skeletons and infant bones in fair preservation, now on display at Dr Aker's Ace city. The mystery is how the formation was placed there with a theory of captive victims by a superior foe.

Prof J H Clemons, summer IH Company worker, suffered a severe eye injury at Norma last Saturday. A steel particle shattered his eye during machinery work, leading to its removal by Dr McConnell in Minot Monday. Mrs Clemons remains by his side as friends extend sympathy.

Baby Drowns in Farm Pool Near Kenmare
Roma Hanson, 17 months old, the child of Mr and Mrs Albert Hanson near Kenmare, drowned last Saturday evening after wandering to a barn pool behind the barn where manure was being hauled. The depth was a foot or so of water in a small hole. The death cast gloom over the community and funeral services were held at the Lutheran church. Also noted: John Kinsella's remains were disinterred and reburied in Minnesota. S M Sorenson reports looking at Medicine Lake Montana for possible loan and real estate work as immigrants move in.

Man Arrested For Threat Over Dollar Demand
Rasmus Lesseth of Carpio North Dakota was arrested on a warrant for using a gun to collect a one dollar debt from Martin Miller. He waited on a hill near Miller’s home with a shotgun threatening to shoot if the debt was not paid. Bond likely to be set to keep the peace.

Liquor Seized by Agent at Ryder Indian Reserve
Indian department special agent N A Way confiscated liquor shipments at Ryder N B July 20. Beer whiskey and wine were poured out on the prairie to destroy evidence and lay groundwork for federal prosecutions before the next grand jury.
