Fire claims life in Shelton North Dakota barber shop blaze
Shelton North Dakota February 17 Wallace Kenoyer a 55 year old resident of Sargent county perished in flames destroying the M Barnes barbershop and Cohen and Frishberg general merchandise store. Kenoyer asleep above the barber shop with little chance to escape authorities held an inquest and ruled death from burning though origin of fire undetermined. A further investigation into the cause was held but findings not yet public. Charred remains of Adar Jupp 22 a farmer five miles southwest were found in his ruined home. Authorities have not determined the blaze origin.

After a three day trial in district court the jury returned a verdict for Percy M. Clark against Kenmare and the Soo Line Railway Co for 5467 plus interest for the death of his eight year old son Grant. The lad was killed when a construction train rolled off a right of way as two boys played nearby in July last year. Clark alleges negligence by the foreman in not keeping the area clear. McGee & Goss represented Clark and Patdy de Aaker and Joly E. Greene the defendants.
