Five Sheltarbelt Trees Offered to Farmers
The U and Drylash Experiment Station at Mandan notifies the county agent they will furnish tree stock for a grove to farmers who follow land preparation and planting instructions. Deslacs Bridge Assured by County Meeting Action

GOOD NEWS TO BORROW ERS FROM REP SINCLAIR

Two Frame Stores Burn at Bowbells Bowbells Fire Destroys Two Frame Buildings
Two adjacent frame stores on Main Street in Bowbells were destroyed by fire discovered by Roy Turbett aboard No 108 from Portal about 3:15 AM. One building housed a pool hall owned by Mrs. Sylvia Glenn, with fixtures by Peter Koch. the other held a confectionery stand run by Charlie Lord. Contents were mostly lost, though Lord saved some goods. Insurance covered Glenn's building for 1000 of 1800 value and Koch’s fixtures for 600. No insurance found on the confectionery. Damaged nearby brick sheriff’s building, bank, and storefronts suffered minor damages. Authorities speculate overheated stove pipe started the blaze. replacement with brick or concrete structures could improve Bowbells' fireproofing.
