Woman Dies by Strychnine Poisoning Near Bowbells
Mrs Christina Mathieson, 56, wife of Carl Mathieson and resident 16 miles southwest of Bowbells, drank strychnine Sunday afternoon and died within an hour. Close family oversight failed to prevent the act, coroner’s inquest finds death by poison taken without family knowledge. Funeral held at Presbyterian church. burial in city cemetery.

Louis Johnson his wife and their baby were struck by Train No 105 near Brown dairy farm northeast of Kenmare as they crossed the track. Mrs Johnson suffered bruises and a broken leg while Mr Johnson was badly bruised. The baby was uninjured. They were taken to a hospital in town where doctors report both adults are improving and may go home in a week or two.

Man Arrested for Insanity in Flax ton Case
John J. McCann, about 29, appeared in Flax ton in a demented condition and claimed crusifixion in prison. A board of insanity ordered commitment to Jamestown hospital after hearing testimony from Judge Carter and Drs. Pierson and Doe. He alleged a Washington State Penitentiary term in 1907 after an assault and battery, and said crucifixion followed while in prison. He claimed Canadian origin with Spanish and Irish descent and spoke good English.
