Minot N D Feb 6 promoters of the Morse River Loop Mid Winter Fair and Farmers Institute report abundant prizes. Contributions include 25 from Brush Mc Williams Co for a barley prize and a desk from Col Scarlett for the best showing. Eastern manufacturers also pledge premiums as plans for booths and decorations move ahead. Adolf Mark and Ole Beck arriving from Tompkins Sask will visit before heading to New York then Norway for three years.

Burke County papers filed Monday show the First International Bank of Northgate formed with B H Edminister E F Volk mann and C V Allduin as incorporators. Capital stock set at 10000. Northgate, the new town platted near the boundary line where the Great Northern and Grand Trunk roads meet, with plat not yet filed.

Youthied Bride Celebrations Marred by Accident

In Dickinson North Dakota on February 4, 17 year old Joseph Kovash was accidentally shot in the head at Frank Kostelecky’s home during a wedding celebration. A blank cartridge misfire from a six shooter caused a wad to strike Kovash in the forehead. his left eye was burned by powder, and he was taken to St Joseph’s hospital where he is reported to be improving.

Wrestle for State Championship in Bowbells Tonight

Tonight in Bowbells LA Stefanowicz of Bowbells and Chris Persons of Fargo meet at the Opera House to decide the state wrestling title. Persons, 187 pounds, has dominated eastern North Dakota. Stefanowicz, western champion, weighs 168 pounds and brings deep in-state experience to the match.

Child Injured By Dynamite Cap Explosion

In Rhame North Dakota on February 4 a ten year old boy, son of Mr and Mrs Chris Mosbrucker, was badly hurt after placing a dynamite cap on a stove. The blast damaged his eye and hand, with shard injuries to his hand. Dr Ewbank could do little for the eye and the boy was taken to Dickinson for further care.

Masked men rob Great Northern hotel in Minot

A masked man entered the Great Northern hotel office at 3:30 a.m. and forced night clerk Michael McDougal to open the till. He stole about 83 or 84 dollars, mostly McDougal's own money, then fled after disconnecting the telephone wires. No other valuables were taken and no suspect is yet found. In Ward county investigations into public school office finances continue amid allegations of excess mileage fees and excessive expenditures. A letter from Leslie Burrows notes a move to Uxbridge and job satisfaction in a furniture factory with variable spring weather and mild cold.

Hanson Files Opinion With Board

State's Attorney H A Hanson filed an opinion with Burke county commissioners arguing the board cannot legally employ counsel to defend the Lignite contest against the Bowbells bid for the county seat. Hanson said funds cannot be drawn from the county treasury for defense and the case may proceed by default. The board may seek legal advice elsewhere. County Meeting Postponed Due to President Illness

The county meeting at the First State Bank was postponed from Wednesday evening to eight o clock. All Bowbells residents are urged to attend when the meeting is held at a rescheduled date and time due to President FEF Carter's illness.

Prisoner Jumps From Moving Train While in Custody

Minot North Dakota February 5 Roy Hanon a claimed 16 year old from Aneta attempted to escape while being taken to Williston jail after detention for forgery. He leapt from a moving Great Northern train but was recaptured by Deputy Sheriff Corrigan of Stanley and later returned to Williston custody. Clyde Hartman from Ambrose arrived to work on a claim southwest of Ambrose and planned to start work next week.

A. F. Berchert warns Stutsman County farmers seed germination varies widely across crops and tests show low germination and disease in some samples. Golden Wedding Celebrated by Mitchells at Utica Ont

From the Uxbridge Journal comes the golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mitchell of Cedar Brae farm Utica Ont. The couple celebrated January 22 with their five daughters three sons twenty one grandchildren and many friends. The gathering featured pink white and gold decor and toasts songs and a wood program.
