In Kenmare North Dakota February 5 a 14 year old girl Ef Mia Mestad set out during a severe storm to visit the Jays two miles south. Her father John Mestad pursued but could not reach her yet she arrived safely at the Jays home. Jack Kinser with a party chased after them but his horses got bogged and his hands froze badly. Kinser received aid at the Jays home and later medical care. amputation was threatened but likely unnecessary.
