Jacob Vatu a well known farmer living four miles west and 1½ miles south of Mdeoland reportedly shot himself in the head with a shotgun at noon while family members were eating. Bottineau North Dakota December 30 A 20 year old Presley resident on the Charles Buchanan farm northwest of Bottineau was killed when a rifle he held discharged. The bullet entered the head near the left eye and passed through the skull. He had brought two guns to the kitchen table while preparing to hunt rabbits. The tragedy shocked the family and neighbors.
Mrs. Jacobson of Lignite and John Heniigsgaard visited Coteau last week while Miss Weed and Lucille Quamme with her baby headed to Kenmare. Tom Quamme’s troupe performed there with more dates this week. Various residents planned moves, visits, or travel and a church fair question is raised about its final results.

The Kandiyohi community shared Christmas Eve joy at multiple homes including Peter Nelson’s with Gust Hennix and Schmelling families. A Lutheran church program featured numerous gifts. Many residents visited relatives in nearby towns and returned home late.
Andrew Hagen of Pelican Rapids and Christ Hagen of Columbus arrived Monday evening to spend a few days visiting at the home of their brother M. C. Hagen.
