Wiper Grain Elevator Burns Down With Heavy Losses
At about 10 20 last Thursday evening the A C Wiper grain elevator burned to the ground destroying about 15 000 bushels of wheat 4 000 bushels of corn 2 500 bushels of rye and 1 000 bushels of oats. The building valued at 25 500 was insured for 6 000 and farmers who stored grain there faced losses while insurance would cover market value. Fire started near the pit likely from a hot box and wind spread heat to nearby structures as fire crews saved adjacent buildings. Most seed grain for Wiper farms was stored there prompting quick purchases of seed to resume planting. A new elevator will be built soon though smaller and more modern.

Body of Missing Man Found Near Milwaukee Track
Marmarth North Dakota April 31 The body of Fred Pring a former Milwaukee employee found in a deep pool beside the Milwaukee railroad track near Makda two weeks after his disappearance. His right foot was partly severed at the ankle. Pring left Marmarth with two companions on a freight train. the others rode to Rhame while Pring stayed behind. A brakeman later spotted a body in the pool and investigators identified it as Pring. It is believed he fell while attempting to climb down and drowned. Funeral services at Marmarth Methodist Church at 7:30.
