Long Term Lease Urges Fertility Boost in Farming

Powers Buys the Lyons Building in Bowbells

M H Powers, cashier of the First State Bank, completed a deal to own the Lyons block on Main Street. The four year old building will continue to house a store on half the lower floor and an opera house on the second floor. The upper floors will be used for opera and dancing, with the pool hall remaining on the ground floor. Powers plans to lease the vacant ground floor half and seeks a top-class show lineup, aiming for value for patrons. The purchase price is reported near 13000. Powers intends no major bookings until fall, noting tight finances in Bowbells and vicinity.
