Woman Dies After Short Illness at Bowbells Home
Mrs. Wm. Burrows longtime Bowbells resident died Friday at home from bruises and pneumonia after a fall. Born April 11 1869 in Menominee Wisconsin she married William Burrows in 1891 and had seven children five living. Funeral held at M E church Bowbells with pallbearers named. Card of thanks from family. Our old friend Per Norberg seeks speedy recovery after bladder trouble.

Wineman Returns From The East A Local News Item
Peter Wineman, known to many locals and father of W H Wineman, arrived from Dry Run Pennsylvania last Thursday and may stay through spring and summer. He helped settle Bow bells country beginning 1900 and spent a period in Canada near his son W H. Friends hope he makes a permanent home here again. Frank Vandervort and brother left after telegrams about their mother at Millbank South Dakota. They found her condition improved and she is on the road to recovery.

Tragic Brooks Family Fire Claims Three Children
A shocker from 30 miles east of Warner Alberta reports that three Brooks children died in a blaze that destroyed their homestead shack while the mother and infant were badly burned. The eldest boy, 12, started a kerosene fire at dawn, causing an explosion. The family had moved from Bow bells to a Warner homestead, with the father working in town. Mrs. Brooks, a Wade by birth, was well known locally and many friends mourn the calamity. Further details were unavailable as The Tribune went to press.

Surprise Eighth Grade Birthday Party for Miss Annette Johnson
The Eighth Grade of the city schools held a surprise party on the 10th at Peter Peterson’s home to celebrate Miss Annette Johnson turning 14. Attendees included Gard, Sylvia Glenn, Lydia Lorentzen, Kathryan Lucy, Alice Kopriva, Maud Sullivan, Lydia White, Anna Krueger, Mariam Hartman, and Celia Russell. Light refreshments, games, and singing followed. all reported great enjoyment.

A circulation states the Soo will run Nos 105 and 106 to and from Ambrose rather than Portal. The railroad commissioners ordered exclusive passenger service on the Ambrose branch and Nos 105 and 101 are expected to handle the work. Station Agent Carey has not been officially notified, but a conductor on No 105 believes the change will occur. This would boost Ambrose branch service and offset prior poor service since the branch was built. Christys High Class Moving Pictures at the opera house tonight. 15 and 25e.

Program for Teachers Burke County Meet at Bowbells High
The first Burke County teachers meeting will be held in Bowbells High School assembly room on Friday afternoon April 21. A large attendance is desired to exchange ideas. The program, arranged by Supt. C. H. Hecht, includes music, an address of welcome by J. H. Clemons, a response by Miss Maud Outram, primary discussions, solo by Miss Ina M. Jones, Hulda Ronning on rural schools, general discussions on school hygiene and sanitation, and closing address by C. H. Hecht. Election of officers and organizing a county association follow the program.

The Schultz brothers William G and Charlie with R A Grams secured a large Can adian Pacific Railroad grading contract near Swift Current Sask. They plan to begin by month’s end with 16 teams and several horse cars, projecting full-season work until ground freezes next fall. Charlie Schultz will lead on site with Grams assisting. W G Schultz will stay nearby for farming duties.
