Pair tie in quiet wedding ends in scare arrest
George R. Bates of Dysart and Miss Mabel Schofield wed at the M E parsonage after a threat to kill if the marriage did not occur. Bates was jailed Tuesday night after the bride accused him of forcing the marriage and he pleaded not guilty with a requested immediate trial. The charge is under statute 8897, carrying a possible ten year penitentiary term. Bates asserts his innocence.

Bottineau voters go to polls Monday November 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to decide issuing 14000 in bonds to refund existing warrants. Bonds mature 2000 at ten years 2000 at fifteen years and 10000 at twenty years. If bought by the state at four percent, city saves.
