Escape of County Jail Inmate William Harrison

Joe Harrison a jailed inmate awaiting district court began an escape from Hotel De McKinnon between 7 and 8 PM Monday. He allegedly used bars and improvised tools, aided by an unknown accomplice. Harrison, tied to the Chris Undeland stabbing at Russell, remains unfound.

First Baptist Church to Resume Regular Services

The regular services resume at First Baptist Church next Sunday with morning service at 11, Sunday School at 12 15, and evening service at 7 30. The pastor preaches on The Modern Need of an Ancient Prayer in the morning and Jabez the Gem Among Pebbles in the evening with a short song service for all before the evening sermon.

Twenty Years Ago Bottineau Halloween Celebrations

Twenty years ago Halloween celebrations in Bottineau featured cheerful merchants and machine men. Threshers praised a crop that year as the best in three years. The Baptist church planned to occupy next Sunday. Jack Stover sold his stake in the livery, Jerry McBain now operates it. Coroner McLay lost a young steer last week and wolves fed on it. The W C T U plans an oyster social at Mrs J B Sinclars on Friday November 4 at 730 PM with an announced program. Reports note a wolf shot near Oak Creek, county officials urged to offer bounties for carcasses. Diphtheria plagues children as infant deaths occur in the area. Oak Creek Cemetery Association formed to fund a new plot, with subscriptions around 100. Judge Dana confirms a replacement for Rev Draper. Mr and Mrs McCandless arrive. Resort to Convention Nomination Plan Outlined

insurgents in Valley City call a November 26 convention to form a state ticket at Grand Forks under party rules. The group will include Good Government League and Scandinavian League members, insurgents from the last legislature, and delegates from the last Republican convention. Thos F Marshall is tipped for U S senator, George M Young for congress, and Treadwell Twichell for governor, with other ticket choices undecided.

Several young people were united in marriage last week in Bottineau region. H H Monkman married Tilda Larson at the Turner home with Rev L M Watermint officiating. The couple will vacation near Schaffer, then return to Bottineau. Carl Christenson wed Elma Sebelius at the bride’s mountain home with Rev Svingen presiding. The ceremony featured bridesmaids and best man, blue silk gowns, and a traditional reception.

Weshope couple wed on Nov 6 1907 near the international line

At the Presbyterian Manse Bottineau Rev Jno P Davis officiated as Benjamin Bowers and Miss Patterson Reid both of Weshope were married Wednesday afternoon. Attendants were Fred J Wilson of Westhope and Iva Riley of Coulter Saskatchewan. They will settle on a farm near Carrievale Saskatchewan just over the border.

One of the prettiest home weddings in this vicinity occurred last Wednesday forenoon at a private residence. The event featured Hoflus and Keller as the couple and drew neighborhood interest for its intimate setting and traditional ceremony.
