Perry Stair, who had his left leg severely hurt by a horse falling on it, is able to be around by crutches. Tra Smith rents Akelson farm for his brother who will come from Iowa to make this his future home. Miss Forkey closes a successful term in the Trotter school this week. Mesars. Wm. Trotter and Ole Peterson appointed to appraise the late Paul Warness property. Lewis Tveit visits Norway. Knute Skaren goes to East Grand Forks for the winter, plans to return in spring.
A freight train derailed on a side track after rolling a scorched tar roll onto the switch frog. The accident delayed Bottineau passenger service by over an hour. Margaret Taylor, daughter of John Taylor of Souris, died Monday of tuberculosis and was buried at Oak Creek cemetery. Courant extends sympathy.
Card of Thanks thanks the ladies who assisted during illness and after death of wife. Alfred R. Caldwell expresses gratitude. Born to Mr and Mrs Caleb Garrison az a boy on Wednesday Oct 28.
Charles Henry Simmonds and Miss Alice Nottage of Scotia were married at the Methodist parsonage on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. F. Powell conducted the ceremony and the couple left that evening for their home. The bride, a former teacher in the district south of Scotia, is described as a charming and capable young woman. Many friends extend best wishes for their life together.
From a 3.5 acre homestead near McIntosh County Frank Pike yields 500 bushels potatoes 40 bushels corn 200 bushels ruta bagas 26 bushels peas and 400 heads of cabbage He sells radishes beets onions and other produce totaling about 00 and holds four tons of corn fodder He buys seven cows and calves from crop proceeds illustrating productive soil potential.
Hans Hansen brought a large brown bear and two cubs into town after shooting them in the mountains. George Belyea purchased all three. The trio was killed with a 22 caliber rifle and a revolver.
