Washington March 5 Republican House members in conference again discuss the Cuban relief question after three hours of fruitless debate. Adjournment was held until Thursday with no action. Fordney and Morris oppose a direct tariff concession and favor a rebate to Cuban sugar planters. Much feeling was shown. Political disaster to Republicans in beet sugar states was forecast if sugar tariffs are lowered for Cuba while another solution exists.

Repeal of Charter Aims at Northern Securities Company
Senator Gebhardt of Hunterdon introduced a senate bill to repeal and dissolve the Northern Securities company.
