John Rodney a long time Bottineau resident and hotel operator at the Columbia in Willow City died Tuesday night at 11 after heart failure. He was 52, survived by four daughters Della Ruth Hazel Roy H. Cook and others. Funeral at the opera house Sunday at 3 conducted by Bottineau Camp Modern Woodmen of America with Rev. L. M. Waterman.

Ballot Printing Changes Across Districts In 1888 Election
The third district spans two legislature districts prompting Eleven more adjustments and the first two districts add organized and unorganized territory for twenty two changes. In total eighty eight ballot name order changes occurred while printing about four thousand Republican ballots versus thirty two changes for Democrats. The law aims to give each candidate an equal advantage by placing names first on ballots. Names appear in alphabetical order on sample ballots delivered to County Auditor Iver M. Bradford Monday.
