Five graduates of the 1911 class at the State School of Forestry received diplomas in a ceremony at the Assembly Hall. Frank Peltier, president of the board, presided and Dr. E P Robertson of Wesley College gave the address. Recipients were Miss Bertha Fleming, David Dinwood, Peter McIntosh, C Reginald Meighen, and Alfred Vikan.

County fair race program promises strong feature
Races at the county fair July 13-14 are expected to attract top horses from state and Canada. Track officials have begun preparations, purses total 300 for the 2:16 pace and 2:25 pace, 50 for the farmers race, 300 for the 2:19 pace, 300 for the 20 pace, and 150 for the green trot or pace. Entries close July 6 at 11 p.m. with secretary John McKenzie in Hatteen eau North Dakota. Spectators will be entertained between heats by the McKenney-Asher Shows.

Imprisoned Collie Sparks Ownership Battle
Last Sunday continuous barking and howling came from a jail cell housing a collie. Joseph Lundy, northwest of town, claimed ownership against rival Peltier, a halfbreed, who allegedly stole the dog last summer. Crushed to Death of Pioneer Resident at Lord's Lake
Vitrick Doherty a wealthy pioneer resident of the Lord's Lake country was killed Tuesday afternoon near Tarsus on the Dunseith road. While driving a team and leading another, the horses panicked, he fell or was stood upon, and died about a half hour later. He was 82, a bachelor, well known in eastern county, and buried at Tares cemetery yesterday afternoon.
