Buoye Murder Trial Opens in Rugby Case

The North Dakota v Buoye and Meehan murder case, transferred from Pierce to Rugby, opened with the defendants asking for separate trials. A jury of 14 was formed after extensive voir dire. about thirty witnesses are expected, with Mrs Buoye and their daughters in attendance. Prosecutors include B L Shuman and Greenlief of Minot.

Wheat 312 Per Cent Below Average in July Crop Report

The July crop report from the U S Department of Agriculture updates acreage and condition as of July 1. Corn planted reaches 114 083000 acres, up 4 9 percent from last year. Wheat remaining on farms is about 38739000 bushels, near the ten year average. Winter wheat condition stands at 81 5 versus 81 3, spring wheat at 61 6 versus 87 1, with the ten year average and June 1 figures noted.

Omemee Horse Races Crown Winners In Four Events

Musical Recital by Miss Kippen’s Pupils at Stover Home

A pleasant and profitable recital was given by Miss Kippen’s class at the Stover home on Thursday evening. The students displayed ease and confidence, with refreshments served by the hostess and Mrs. Cathro. The program included Birds of Paradise and The Merry Bobolinks among others, featuring Ada and Florence McKenzie, Joy McFaul, Claude Ridley, Lois Stewart, and Higginn in various performances.
