The jury returned a not guilty verdict for Elmer and beef Anderson in a case charging them with stealing wheat from Arcade Bergeron. Other trials included L. K. Hoheim for wheat theft from J. S. Burwell, also found not guilty, and various civil rulings. Embezzlement plea by James Butcher led to a fifteen day county jail sentence.

Notorious Horse Thief Caught Near Deep
Sheriff L. Drewry of Langdon and Deputy Alex Bernhardt captured Sam Burns alias J J Kiner, a noted horse thief who stole three horses from a Langdon area farmer last fall and sold them in Manitoba. A letter to his family led to the arrest as the duo spotted him en route to Deep near Herslip's.

Lincoln Day Observed in Bottineau With Ceremonies
The town marked the birth centennial of Abraham Lincoln with school programs at the central and high schools.
