Pony Express Wins Big Victory Over Corporations
Chicago February 13 a United States circuit court verdict awards Joseph H. Lund of Elgin Illinois $2000 against the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul Railroad and the United States Express company. The ruling protects private individuals from interference by large express firms with small commission based package shipments. Lund had been arrested at Union Station on April 1 1893 after shipping purchases from Chicago and seeking damages for the arrest.
