Two couples wed in a small ceremony at the home of Mr and Mrs Duncan Stewart southwest of the city. Lillian May Stewart married Andrew Arseth of Howard and Mary Penelope Stewart wed Lachlan J Williams. Rev H Shaw presided at 11 p m. The couples planned visits before returning to their homes in Howard and Bottineau.

Lumbermen in Runaway Auto Team Collison
Monday night W H Day superintendent of the Imperial and E D P Malden auditor were riding from Mohall to Maxbass when a runaway team charged down the road. Malden steered to let it pass, the wagon wheel broke loose and two horses bolted. one ran free, the other collapsed with injuries while the men were unhurt though shaken. Owner James Morrison of Mohall arrived to assess the scene.

Soil richness doubles plant growth with fixed water use
Dr. Widtsoe of Utah reported during a dry farming congress that rich soil yields more growth per water. An experiment on corn showed manuring reduced water need from 908 to 612 pounds per pound of dry matter, a one third gain, with similar gains from cultivation as soil stirring liberates plant food. The findings apply to dry humid and irrigated farmers alike.

Drillers Hope Fix Ends Cave In At Deep Gas Well
Westhope drillers faced repeated cave ins at 1800 feet depth this fall. They filled the bottom 150 feet with cement to set and harden over Sunday and Monday, then began drilling out again. If the cement holds, casing can be driven down and progress resumes after a month of no headway.

Death of Thomas Cave Pioneer of the Mouse River Loop
Thomas Cave a longtime pioneer near Westhope died Monday after years of ill health. Born March 20 1848 in Banbury Cross England he came to America at 23 settling in Ashtabula Ohio then Montana before Bottineau County in 1901. He married Emma Plow of Toronto November 20 1998. survived by his wife and a Wisconsin brother.
