At Minot last week the Northwestern Educational association elected H E Layne of the county as president. Minot is named permanent meeting place. The summer school will be held at Velva again but no institute will occur with it. Dates and faculty remain to be announced.
Several schools in the county have notified the superintendent's office that work has begun on exhibits to be made at the county fair this year.
The Grand presented Faust last night to a pleasing crowd. The production featured well colored films and remarkable transformation and fire effects, making the show a source of pride for Bottineau residents.
Miss Lillian M Johnson of Antler and George H Kalb Fleisch of Westhope wed at 8 p m Wednesday at the bride’s parents home in Antler. Rev Thos Johnson officiated with J P Flynn of Westhope and Miss Elsie Johnson as attendants. The groom, a former Bottineau boy, has many relatives in the city.
The pastor preaches in the morning but no evening service due to a union service at the M. E. church. Junior meeting is in the afternoon and the Young People's meeting in the evening proceed as usual. The Ladies Missionary society plans an illustrated Tuesday lecture with stereopticon views. A C Frolich visited from Soups Saturday.
State charged Ed Hansen with selling malt liquor Digesto labeled four percent alcohol. Justice Smithson held him to district court after admitting bonds of 500 dollars. State witnesses said buyers used it as medicine and disliked water, noting no intoxication after several bottles. States Attorney Adams prosecuted. Kirk and Adamson represented the defendant.
Tuesday afternoon at the fair grounds the married men and the bachelors played a six inning game. The bachelors won 3 to 2 in a very even contest with Benedicts holding the lead until late due to several errors. Another game is planned soon.

Geo. Dumont of Antler fractured his leg when a horse fell on it. The injury had fractured the limb twice before and doctors briefly feared amputation before rebandaging and expected recovery as physicians weighed surgery options.
Two men suspected of breaking into the Great Northern depot at Willow City Sunday night or Monday morning and stealing goods including liquor are under arrest with Sheriff Sandstrom and deputies finding evidence of other robberies. At Severin Cote’s home officers recovered coats, clothing, hardware, a shotgun and rifle, and stolen staff linked to Willow City and Overly with possible ties to Deloraine Manitoba. Fred Williams alias Charles Woods and Severin Cote were jailed with expectations of more plunder found.

Anna Berge wife of von Berge died at home northwest of the city on Tuesday afternoon of heart trouble after a long illness. Born in Gulbrandsdalen Norway on October 8 1847 she was 76. She came to the United States with her husband 28 years ago, living first at Starbuck then in Bottineau County. Nine children were born, six survive: Mrs L B Wall Mrs M B Kortgaard Mrs H N Wekseth Mrs Olaf Gattu Miss Hilda Berge and Anton Berge. Funeral Sunday at 10 am at home and 2 pm at Turtle Mountain Lutheran Church with Rev Tollernd officiating.

His lineage includes Chatty Direct, Douchester trotters and Don Pronto pacer 2.02% with eighteen trotters and ten pacers 2:10 or better last season.
Mrs. Fred Leege of the Tit tle Mountains appeared before the insanity commission this week. She is believed to be insane but will not be committed to the asylum because her relatives agree to care for her.
