Born March 17 1839 in Maysville Kentucky he served in the 126th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War and married Christianna Marshall September 14 1865. Survived by eight sons and one daughter with services at the Baptist church at 2:30 pm conducted by Rev Schlaman. interment Oak Creek Cemetery.

Archie Jeffrey longtime police chief of this city and later at Howard North Dakota died Friday afternoon after a year of illness. Postmortem found gallstones caused death. Born September 7 1868 he died September 27 in Bottineau. He moved with his parents to Bruce County Ontario as a youth and married Euphemia McArthur in 1904. The couple moved to North Dakota in 1902 and lived in Langdon and nearby for years.

At a North Dakota Federation of Commercial clubs meeting in Grand Forks, Governor Hanna proposed bonding the state for one million dollars to fund highway construction.
