Utility Commission Meeting in Blackfoot Over City Lights

The State Utility Commission, with officials from Mexara, A. P. Ramstadt, A. L. Freehofer and BE. G. is, arrived in Blackfoot with railroad and water power superintendents. City representatives pressed for more lights at current rates under the expired contract, while L. M. Capps opposed high charges under the meter system. The commission will decide after reviewing the complaint.

President Duckworth to Panama Exposition Trip

President James Duckworth of the Genealogical Society of the Mormon Church departs for two weeks at the Panama Exposition in San Francisco. About 200 society members will meet him in Salt Lake City to accompany the journey.

Elaborate Firth wedding of Bina Andrus and Wardell Clinger

A very enjoyable wedding in Firth last Thursday joined Miss Bina Andrus daughter of a leading local businessman and Wardell Clinger of Rigby. Rev Barnstable of Blackfoot officiated at the bride's parents home before fifty to sixty guests with an elaborate supper of five or six courses. The couple then began a honeymoon. Early Saturday morning Powers Drug Store was entered by breaking a rear window with a damaged cash register and other losses. The robber left no clue but the pattern suggests the same culprit may be responsible for multiple burglaries this year.

Rancher Kidnapped. Family to Pay $6000 Ransom

Idaho Falls dispatch reports E. A. Empey, a cattleman and sheepman from Long Valley, was abducted by a gunman while returning from the Bert Empey ranch with two youths. A letter demands $6000 in gold to be delivered within days, with death for Empey or rescuers if refused. Relatives, alerted from Garland Utah, fear capturing efforts may trigger his death. The case links possible staged robberies in the area and draws on Whitney and other outlaw rumors.

Stake Monthly Meetings Held Across Blickgee Stake on July 25 1915

On Sunday July 25 1915 the Blickgee stake schedules multiple meetings throughout the day. High council and stake leadership gather at stake building, priesthood groups convene, Sunday school union meets, Y M I A workers join, belief society workers meet, and primary work discussions follow. The Snake River Drowning Victim Identified Near Porterville

On Wednesday morning about 10 50 the Snake river opposite Pirth saw another accidental drowning. Wit Klineschmidt from the Gushwa ranch near Porterville, employed repairing Laval Side Canal head, jumped into the river when the boat tipped while loaded with rocks. The others escaped, but Klineschmidt, about 80, vanished despite dragging and dynamiting efforts. He came from Nebraska three years ago with a wife and two children who mourn his loss.

Attend Funeral of Grandchild in Kilgore

Mr. Joseph Merrill of Merrill & Sons dairymen returned from Kilgore where he attended the funeral of a four month old grandchild whose death was caused by stomach trouble. He traveled with his wife and aunt Mrs. Lottie Martin. Kilgore locals extended hospitality as the family noted the valley’s stock raising, timber, and two mountain streams with trout.
