Bryan to Visit Pocatello Amid National Democratic Tensions

William J. Bryan will arrive in Pocatello Tuesday morning at 6:30 on northbound train No. 1 from Ogden and will stay until 10:30, planning to address High School pupils and participate in a local reception. Democratic officials, led by J. B. Bistine, arrange activities with the Great Unfertrified faction for the visit. He then departs for Twin Falls on westbound train No. 5.

George Hall, who recently sold his farm two miles north of town, has purchased the Lacey ranch of 151 acres on the Snake River north of town. This second home purchase signals his faith in Bingham county prospects.

Sheriff DeKay Returns From California trip with notes on locals

Sheriff F E DeKay arrived Friday from Los Angeles where he subpoenaed a witness in the Shelley bank case. He met former Blackfoot residents and shared an account. Dolph Johnsons enjoy a mild winter and expect to stay until June. D R Jones and wife reside in the city. Jones has been selling Mexican lands since leaving Blackfoot. George A Robethan, away in critical sickness, shows improvement and optimism. Hansen couple visit Grove City for Mrs Hansen's health. improvement noted. DeKay believes Bingham county offers more opportunities for money making than California.

Eye sight specialist to examine eyes in Blackfoot

Dr. Scarborough will be in Blackfoot to examine eyes and fit glasses. He will be fully equipped with instruments at the Gotage Hotel on Monday March 11, 1912.

The B Y P A program featured four Indians from the nearby Presbyterian Mission and Rev H M Wagner. They discussed Christian life versus White Man conduct, noting natives’ view of Christianity as linked to Whites. Grant Feathers and Billy George sang in Shoshone and prayed, inspiring support for mission work.

A dance is planned Friday the 16th. Edna Egbert reports a frightening incident near home with a wire fence injury and a mysterious man with a small dog. Suspicions arise but identity remains unknown. Residents question if Mybert’s account is real. others doubt. Mr and Mrs Patterson, Mr James Mes, A Clark, and Mrs Alex Burnett of Mackay travel from Salt Lake toward Merkay.

WILL RESUME OPERATIONS ON THE BIG LOST RIVER

A union of Methodist and Baptist churches in this city will begin Thursday with a union prayer meeting at the Baptist church led by Mrs Taylor. Evangelist Taylor arrives March 9 with his singer and the meetings extend for a month at the Methodist Episcopal church. Large crowds are expected downtown, with potential overflow. The effort aims to attract new members and guide people to church homes.

Griffing Family Receives Farewell at Methodist Church

Last Thursday night the Bible class held a farewell reception for J. G. Griffing and family as they prepare to move back to Kansas. Griffing helped grow the church through Sunday school and increased membership. Friends presented the family a rug in gratitude for their service.

Banquet for Prof Vincent Honors Birthday of George Washington

Teachers of the city schools hosted a Cottage hotel banquet last Thursday in honor of Prof. W. D. Vincent, marking his birthday shared with George Washington. The six course dinner featured toastmaster Prof. Benson and responses from Mrs. Lula Smith, Prof. Vanderhoof, Miss Doyle, Prof. Vincent, and Prof. Benson. The event celebrated Vincent’s esteem among patrons and teachers.
