Theft of Confiscated Liquor Struck by Ghostly Incident
Sheriff Jones reported a break in at the county liquor storehouse. A 10 gallon keg of whiskey and several salt cargo bottled goods were stolen, likely by someone familiar with the rear entry to the courthouse area. Deputy Shepitt Fackrell discovered the loss about seven o clock Sunday morning, noting the break appeared premeditated and connected to the basement access and rear stairwell storage. The incident leaves county contraband stock badly depleted with no clear suspect.

Thos G Rich died suddenly at his home in St Charles last Tuesday night from brain hemorrhage. Born in St Charles 85 years ago, he lived in the county most of his life except for a period on a telegraph line. He leaves a widow and two young daughters who share the community’s sympathy. He was nephew to J Rich and H C Rich, and related to the Just family. a Presto area pupil recently home for ton ailment returned to studies.

Forty Warehouses Planned For Next Crop
The Farmers Society of Equity and Southern Idaho Producers Association plan forty warehouses and storage bins across the potato districts to support the coming season. Work is set to begin soon, aiming to stabilize prices via cooperative pooling and improved loading and shipping. Committees from both groups meet in Pocatello next Monday to finalize plans and a crop pooling contract.

Death of Noble Woman Mrs Mattie M Christensen
Mrs Mattie M Christensen of Smithfield Utah died suddenly at home February 4 1914 after a brief illness. She was born August 31 1838 in Skoda Denmark emigrated to Utah in 1861 and later moved to Smithfield. She was mother to eleven children six surviving and left seventy three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her husband C A Christensen preceded her six years ago.

A joint session at Pocatello last Saturday outlined summer plans by the Farmers Society of Equity to build a large warehouse and handle farm supplies directly to farmers. The meeting also fused Equity with the Southern Idaho Producers Association to pool efforts on potato shipments and establish a coordinated pack, grading, and selling network.
