A 22 year old man, Louis West, reported an opened switch on the Short Line near C. W. Berryman Sr. The signal showed the main line clear as Freight Train No 11 neared. West confessed to tampering but later denied it. no arrest yet. Sheriff investigated as officials warned of possible danger if a train passed with an open switch.
