County Commission Proceedings Opened Special Session 1918
The Board of County Commissioners met in special session February 11 1918 with Manuel Sandoval chairman and three other members present. They approved minutes from prior meetings and a road project statement by County Surveyor James C Harvey for a $21 578 15 project from south of Belen to the Socorro county line and sent it to the State Highway Commission. They set minimum taxable values for Valencia County 1918 for various land types and towns and named a committee to interview road right of way owners to report April 1 1918. A Packard truck contract was awarded to Sauer & Emblem at 5951 80 with tax considerations noted. The county highway superintendent was directed to hire an architect for a shelter and garage plans and a room cost cap was given for brick and concrete buildings. Funds and warrants were reviewed and approved.
