County Commissioners Regular Meeting April 7 1919
The Valencia County Board met in regular session on April 7 1919 with Chairman Manuel Garcia and members Abel Vigil and Tranquilino Jaramillo present along with Deputy Sheriff Salome Jaramillo and County Clerk Diego Aragon. Minutes from February 10 1919 were approved. Jesus Gallegos resigned as Justice of the Peace for Precinct No 1 and Antonio J Areruleta was appointed. The board referred a petition from Precincts 2 and 3 to Codification Section 2691 1915. Right of way claims on Los Chavez Road were rejected. Emiliano Castillo’s bond as County Road Superintendent was approved. Santa Fe Pacific R R representatives requested land valuation changes from 1.50 to 1.25 per acre, which the board adjusted to 1.265 per acre after deliberation. Henry Robertson of Bridge & Iron Co El Paso Texas, the successful bidder for the Rio Puerco bridge contract opened October 7 1918, pledged completion and was awarded the erection contract noting mutual understanding with the Valencia County Board.

Valencia County moves on bridge project and road plans
The Valencia County Commission advances a Rio Grande bridge project near Los Lunas and districts road planning. The board authorizes contracts with El Paso Bridge & Iron for a 20 ton bridge, sets road district boundaries, fixes the road superintendent salary at 2400 a year, and requests a Federal Aid project with the state highway commission while pledging one fourth of costs up to 120000 dollars.
The Price of Peace film aids Victory Liberty Loan efforts
A 5000 foot war film titled The Price of Peace depicts Chateau Thierry combat, a German plane destroyed, field gun crew casualties, and the American Army in Germany. One photographer was killed during production. It will be shown in many theatres at no admission during the Victory loan campaign.
