Trinidad May 4 Major W A Holbrook announced Col James Lockett commander of the 11th U S Cavalry will arrive at 7 30 tomorrow to assume supreme command of federal forces in Colorado. The 11th travels in seven trains and will push negotiations for surrender of arms. Guards at Colorado Fuel and Iron mines turn over weapons to troops. Strikers in Huerfano County to deliver all weapons Wednesday. Holbrook inaugurates guards for paymasters of strikers and mine operators. He will report on troop activities after meeting Lockett.

Death of 6 month old Carlitos Garcia
Carlitos Garcia aged six months died at 6 o'clock yesterday morning after two weeks of illness with brain congestion. His father Manuel C. Garcia formerly edited the Belen News and Hispano Americano in Belen. Mrs. Garcia came here two weeks ago for medical care. Funeral services are at 5 this afternoon at Sacred Heart church with burial in Santa Barbara cemetery.

Willa is among poultry contest winners enjoying success with her hatch. Fred Dills suffers tonsillitis and remains at his home. Mr and Mrs Rought visited the school and plan to move to Belen sending their daughter to next year's high school. Mr Rought is an engineer from Clovis. Commencement is Friday May 15 with more details to come next week.

Rushing Road Work Near Santa Fe On El Camino Real
Two hundred seventy men in ten camps are rushing El Camino Real toward completion. State Engineer James A. French says the Raton to El Paso road will be ready for the exposition year. Bridge Bid Call for San Juan County in New Bridge
The San Juan county commissioners invite bids for a La Plata river bridge below Farmington a one span steel high truss structure fourteen foot roadway with a one hundred twenty foot length and fourteen foot piers cast concrete piers. The bridge will carry freight teams to Farmington Fruitland government agency and Shiprock schools. The Shiprock government bridge is under construction and due for completion in July or August.
