Dedication Day on March 18 drew 45 226 attendees, a 35 percent rise from Opening Day January 1 1915. The Panama California International Exposition expands with 20 nations, famed racers, and the Path Finder vehicle, while Shakespeare tercentenary events unfold with a schoolchild pageant and local club involvement.
The Methodist Episcopal Church reports strong work across departments with excellent services. Sunday School has reached eighty delegates, Christian Endeavor grows lively, and services become more engaging weekly. Sermon topics include In His Steps and The Creed of the Conquering Christmas. Evening address at 8:00 invites all to attend.
Albuquerque March 29. President Boyd announced this year’s commencement speakers at the University of New Mexico. Hon W C Reid former Attorney General and now General Attorney for the Santa Fe Railway will give the address. Captain Reid is known for clear thinking and advocacy of educational improvements in New Mexico. The program will include new entertainment features and details of comprehensive buildings planned for the University.
Valencia County Board of Commissioners met in special session to set minimum valuations for various land categories for 1916 and approve bonds for banks. They addressed drainage drainage engineering questions and approved a grant for state drainage investigation. A tax levy discrepancy was noted with State Tax Commission figures and corrections ordered, affecting county revenue limits.
