Last week the Be rlen Public Schools and Nielencia County High School completed a new industrial building for forging and woodwork. Erected by industrious students under instructor W M Fox in five school days, the 25 by 50 foot frame structure showcases practical education without hindering regular classes. This marks a pioneering effort in New Mexico for student built school facilities. The article also notes Pan American commerce discussions in Washington and the broader push for Latin American studies to bolster US Latin trade relations.
A local contest headed by Maximiliano Sanches won over Antonio Garcia for the Belen High Land Ditch commissioners ticket. Elected were Richard Pohl, Jose F. Mr and Mrs Doran celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary with a last Sunday ceremony and a turkey dinner. Also noted were Mr and Mrs E G Cash and Mr and Mrs William Banard as guests.
Mrs Lieffring and Mrs Hoffman hosted their second afternoon entertainment with a Turkey Conundrum prize event. Spooner won first, Seery second, Finney consolation. instrumental and vocal selections by young ladies. Attendees included H Davidson, Finney, Cash, W J Davidson, Moore, Spooner, Berger, McGrath, Seery, Cunningham, Taylor, Campbell.
The court orders a special term of the Valencia County District Court to begin January 1, 1916, at the county seat Los Lunas, New Mexico. The order issued November 23, 1915, sets the terms for handling travel and public actions.
