Valencia County Republican Convention Chooses Delegates

The Valencia county Republican convention chaired by J M Luna elected temporary officers Eugene Kempenich and J M Luna. Delegates were chosen for credentials and organization committees and Narciso Francis and Teofilo Chaves y Luna were named to the state legislature. The body urged unity and adjourned sine die.

Suspension of Curry County Clerk Awalt Over Accounts

Clovis Curry county clerk A L Awalt was suspended from office August 14 by Judge John T McClure following a traveler auditor report on irregularities in his accounts. Fighting Between Maytorena and Calles Forces in Sonora

Maytorena and Calles factions clash at Quijano thirty miles south of Nogales Sonora. The battle's outcome is unknown as four hundred Calles volunteers reinforce their side. The night before a local figure Maria Huguez brother of Sonora's secretary of state was executed here amid the conflict.
