Beaver should promote traffic through its town for economic benefit while keeping highways well repaired. Too many damaged roads deter visitors and risk safety. Publicity attracts travelers, but the town must maintain clean, safe routes to avoid harming its image and undermining revenue.
The Herald shop reports brisk activity printing ballots for the November general election. It notes a smooth, on time process and highlights the Democratic and Republican tickets, urging voters to back all nominees and leave no splits, contending a Republican edge in the county and commissioner district.
The Mothers' club hosted a Friday evening reception at the K of P hall for Beaver school faculty. The decorated hall featured flowers and greenery, with a brief program including a vocal solo, welcome by the club president E L Fickel, a response by Supt A O Andrew, and remarks by several faculty members. A general round of discussions and socializing followed, with light refreshments served.
L B Dram and Shell Little had a near-miss when their cars collided near the M C Green farm outside Denver. Both drivers were unthrown but their vehicles were badly wrecked and expected to cost hundreds to repair. Lester Judd was thrown through a windshield but suffered only minor injuries. The crash was blamed on glaring headlights and dimmer lenses on Drummond’s Overland, Little’s Ford had none.
