Home from Legion Convention in New Orleans
ge Kile Art Lindow and Harry Dunn returned from the National Convention of the American Legion in New Orleans where about 260 soldiers from every state and several foreign countries attended. The city dazzled with flags as free entertainments by the Elks included shows dances boat rides on the Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico. The Legion Parade lasted two and a half hours and a striking painting of an American Soldier supporting a French Soldier drew admiration. The column also notes local happenings including Supt. Boothe constructing a stained cabinet for the Forgan railroad depot and the Ladies Missionary Society meeting with plans for a program. W. H.
