Merchant Lee of Englewood asserts the old town remains intact despite the new townsite plans. He objects to broadcast campaigns by a new Lawsuite company claiming Englewood is being moved, warning it could harm local business while affirming satisfaction with the existing community.
Articles of incorporation filed in the territorial secretary office show a one million dollar capital for a Beaver County railroad aiming to run from Beaver southeast to the Gulf through Oklahoma City. Backers say an 850 mile line via Woodward Watonga Geary would open a northwest outlet, boost wholesale trade, and tap Oklahoma’s rich wheat belt, with Kansas City capitalists seen backing the project. Oklahoma City’s business sector voices strong support for a line that would complete the city’s railroad wheel and draw northwest trade. The Times-Journal notes pending northwest line proposals and argues this road would spur development and export access to the seaboard. The Times-Journal, September 20, 2006, also mentions the county teachers’ exam dates in Beaver Guymon and Keaton.
An academy named Lurence Friends opens in Beaver County near the No Man's Land area now Oklahoma, marking an intermediate institution between common school and college. In its second term students began classes Monday, with last year’s enrollment listed and third term boarding at a ranch nearby. The nonsectarian Christian school sits fourteens miles south of Englewood Kansas on a five acre site overlooking a valley.
James Billips, held for assault with intent on kill, was seriously hurt Saturday when a cement block flue collapsed while he cleaned a stove in the county attorney’s office. He was carried to the jail and treated. no bones were broken, but bruising was severe. Also notes completion of the Liberal to Seaver phone line, praised for its sturdiness after a long-needed upgrade.
A humorous exchange features Mrs Uptowne lamenting missing socks for her boy and a driver Tim of the band wagon explaining that the socks will arrive with the howe cart. The October issue of Woman's Home Companion carries the anecdote.

Notice of Hearing for Probate of Will given to all interested parties. The Court of Beaysy County in Havre, Lead county, will hold a regular term on November 1, 1000, to hear proof of the will and contest petitions. Probate Judge Mawar will preside.
