A humorous admonition from Samuel Savell urges controlling finances by depositing all income into a bank and withdrawing as needed. The quip portrays banking as a way to retard the flow of expenses, suggesting it costs nothing to try.
Beaver County chapter of the American Red Cross reports its Conservation committee led by Mrs Annie L Jones shipped 2595 pounds of clothing, much new, in response to a 1000 pound target. The drive shows strong local support with many renewals and eager readers following "Pat O’Brien" and Beaver friends. Grant McCool, formerly of Riverside now in Marble Texas, sent a subscription note and urges continued reading despite a war priorities order requiring prepayment by November 1, 1918.
Minn Faye Wagner, chairman of supplies for Kokomo Branch, reported finished garments delivered at headquarters on Saturday. The Kokomo Branch provided 16 pairs of socks, 2 sweaters, 1 pair of wrinTlets, 19 boys undershirts, and 2 comfort pillows. Moonshine Auxiliary contributed 10 pairs of socks and 2 sweaters.
Citizens urged to remove outdated posters promoting war activities. Do not leave old notices on windows or bulletin boards as new ones appear. The War Board asks everyone to keep displays current to aid the war effort and prevent confusion.
In a strong editorial Beaver County's Herald urges Oklahoma to pass the Equal Suffrage amendment in November. It condemns southern resistance to women’s rights, praises western vigor, and argues that Oklahoma can redeem itself by granting women the vote to join war-time duties and civic duties. It stresses men of Beaver county should back suffrage to honor wives, mothers, sisters, and sweethearts.
The County Red Cross headquarters shipped out 700 bed socks this past week to aid troops overseas. The effort aims to keep the soldiers’ feet warm over there.

Speakers included Secretary Pope of the John Embry, Woodward Chamber of Commerce leader Pye Foley, and veteran Pershing participant Foley. The program featured Boy Scout drills and county band music led by W. T. Meador.
