County Commissioner Al G Dantel Breaks At Beavercounty

County commissioner Al G Dantel of the third district was badly injured Monday when his Ford broke while cranking. He suffered broken bones in both forearms, forcing him to cancel a meeting with the County Board of Commissioners in October. Recovery hoped for swiftly.

Back on the Job The Herald resumes print after outdoor trip

The Herald editor returned from a trip to Oklahoma City and eastern Oklahoma delaying publication for a week. The office was short staffed but back in full operation and ready to handle printing promptly, with thanks to readers for their patience. Road work near the Mexican Arroyo and Loafburrow ranch progresses, including a completed bridge and surfacing, easing travel on the main highway. The section between Beaver river bridge and area Mice remains rough with cutouts needing repair. residents hope for immediate fixes to improve Northwest county access to waters. County commissioners are conducting business this week and will update next week.

Lon Ford Purchases Poland China At Beaver County Fair

Lon Ford reports purchasing a fine Poland China pig at the Second Beaver County Free Fair in Shaler on October Ath. He bought Cap Jones, a six month old male, which won second place at the same fair. The purchase price was 86 dollars and Ford believes it was a very reasonable price.

Red Cross Roll Call Conference in Oklahoma City

State Hall Call Director J F Owens to attend a conference in Oklahoma City from October 9 for planning the forthcoming Red Crow drive.
