The Kansas, Oklahoma and Panama Railway Company, a million dollar concern, wins state charter to build a line from Liberal Kansas southeast to Sayre Oklahoma with a possible branch to Oklahoma City. Sayre becomes headquarters with local backing including a $40,000 bonus. Principal promoter is Richard W. Raffin of Hamilton Ohio, joined by directors from Sayre and Indianapolis.
