The Beaver County Election Board announces a general election on Tuesday April Sth 1921 in Beaver Oklahoma from 8:00 A M to 6:00 P M. Independent ticket lists Trustees for four wards Town Clerk Town Treasurer Justice of the Peace with named candidates including Fred Tracy O P Smith Preston R Waller J 8 Meador L L Long Austin D Humphrey O F Pruett Marion R Smith Gwen Stephenson Thos P Braidwood R S Hammon plus secretary John L Wallace dates and offices.
Last Saturday a number of boys gathered up tin cans and rubbish in the southwest part of town. Their services were donated willingly without cost to the town. Participants included Paul and Luke Glover Bernard and Marvin Gardner Elmer Ray and Lee Murray Ray and Cleman Humpshre Layman and Thelma Jones Monroe Horne Forest Mann Joe Carter Lester Finley Owen and Elmer Searcy Van and Leo Brown.
Clarence Slocum nephew of E Blocum arrived Wednesday evening for the hog sale. He attends Gulwater Okts school and won a Beaver s County scholarship last year.
Southwest Beaver residents contributed time and oil to support a city project. An army truck pulled a girder using oil from Austin Humphrey’s truck, five blocks were graded, and volunteers Harry Brown W Mann W B Searey Austin Humphrey Rube Chilcott Walter Murray covered the work costs. Donations funded track expenses as the community urged continued effort.
Beaver public school teachers hosted a community social at Beaver High School on Monday evening March 7 for about 175 patrons. A second event is planned for Monday March 21 by the Father’s Club, with light refreshments and a fine program.
Mrs Margaret C Pine died at her daughter’s home March 7 at age 55. Born Margaret Langford in 1660, she married Adam Pine in 1684 and had 11 living children. A Methodist member early, she later joined the Friends church. Funeral at home Monday at five, led by Prof A O Andrew, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery after services in Wichita. Community offers condolences to the bereaved family.
The Music Club held a regular gathering at Miss Maude Stallings home with an engaging program and refreshments afterward. Mrs. W. G. Stranathan will host the next meeting, while E Lindauer departs Bea ver for Taft California after visiting her parents. Lindauer had been in California for about three months pursuing old business near Taft.
