Beaver County Bridge Project Advances Promisingly

Beaver county residents welcome a new bridge over the Beaver River with heavy work underway. Pile drivers place piles as the structure moves toward completion. In other news Dr. A J Sands is nominated as presidential elector from the western district at the Alva convention. The Ladies Circle hosts a February at home event at Mrs. Frank Laughlin’s with light refreshments for church funds. A second event will entertain town youths that evening.

Sheriff Confined in the County Bastile

Sheriff Clyde Maple remains confined in Beaver County Jail after a brief confrontation with Dr L L Long on the first day of the week. L Be Tinnin died at his home near Balko after years of railroad contracting. Funeral and burial were held in the local cemetery under Odd Fellows auspices. He leaves a wife five children two brothers and one sister. Born in Arkansas April 28 1836 he was nearing his 52nd year.
