Harvest progress and crop prospects near Alva Oklahoma

Stedman Family Tour to Texas Points and Return

B B Stedman and Mrs Covert of Wishita Kansas return Sunday from a motor trip to Texas points including El Paso. Mrs Covert, formerly Miss Blanch Stedman, had been visiting at the Stedman ranch on Mexico Creek before the outing. They travel home to Wichita Tuesday. Stedman notes Texas dry and barren with dying cattle and scarce pasture. Beaver county cattle suffer despite drought while the local press reports ample pasturage. Lyne Guscell and family host Mrs Pailin daughter of Ressell from Illinois. Sam and son Weir visit Woodward to meet her.

Chautauqua Plans Complete With Local Leadership Named

Mr. Cormett of the Standard Chautauqua Company met the Joos Committee on Monday to finalize plans for the Chautauqua beginning July 21. Judge R. H. Loofbourrow was elected president. J. W. Havage, secretary and treasurer. Committees set: Ticket selling Dr. L. L. Long, Advertising W. T. Quinn, Junior Department Rev. L. L. Shaw, Grounds Rey Barnes. July 2 set for wagon wheel setup and July 6 county ticket selling day with autos to promote tickets. Beaver’s Chautauqua emphasizes education and entertainment. sessions to be attended. Waras's Stetewary Gesiety Meeting at Mrs Guranabad Home

The Waras's Stetewary Society met Thursday afternoon at Mrs W G Guranabad's home. President led devotions with roll call followed by missionary news. Mrs Healy led a quiz on Alaska Mire Carson reviewed work among Japanese Red Chinese in the U S and Mexico. Edith Miles sang musical numbers. Refreshments of sherbet and wafers were served during the social hour.
