A shower visited Heav er Friday with brief rain and a night rain that caused damage in the area. The south and southeast sections fared poorly with large hail cutting up gardens and crops and breaking window panes. Wheat suffered considerable damage.
Mrs James Baker formerly Eva Crump died Saturday at the XI ranch after a severe illness. She suffered from epilepsy for years. health had improved recently but she finally passed away bringing regret to those who knew her.
The Ray and Ray stock and related buildings in Elmwood Oklahoma were sold by trustee Holcolm of Woodward for 100 dollars to James Bare of Elmwood. The sale ends litigation from a two year old bankruptcy case. stock previously sold to Col Pettyjohn and Corbett. The purchaser plans to occupy the buildings with a new stock of goods.
Assistant U S Attorney Geo F Zimmerman returned from St Paul where he argued the Stanley bud Kline case testing the constitutionality of the grandfather clause. He expected a decision by the court in late September, with the lower court verdict likely to be affirmed.
By order of the State Board of Agriculture there will be a Farmers Institute meeting at the Court House in Beaver on June 1st at 8 o clock p.m. to elect officers for the coming year and delegates to the State Board of Agriculture annual meeting in Stillwater on the first Tuesday in August.
