Breeders Meet Called for July 28 in Basver County

Countywide livestock breeders are urged to attend a gathering on Saturday July 28 at Basver to organize efforts. Malone quinstad state director will speak and assist. All interested in improving livestock are encouraged to travel to participate and support the event.

Liberal Boosters Rally for Liberal Chautauqua Support

The Liberal Boosters visited Liberal Tuesday to drum up town support amid a large crowd. Rev. Perkins welcomed them with Rev. Hestwood and Rev. Taylor replying, while B. J. Thayer spoke on the upcoming Chautauqua and Rete Moot. The group collected literature and souvenirs as the band played, and locals promised further attendance and strong booster effort.

Seed Wheat Plan for 250 Boys Offered by County Agent

County Agent J F Newsom asks The Herald to announce financing for 200 boys aged 10 to 18 to buy seed wheat on their note with twelve months to pay and 6 percent interest. Boys interested should consult their banker or Mr Newsom for details.

Chautauqua a Grand Success in Beaver

Beaver’s Chautauqua opened July 21 and closed July 25, yielding a net credit for next year. Attendance stayed strong from start to finish with no session shorter than 350, and crowds praised the program from Rudolph’s Swiss Singers to Dr. Nusbaum’s lecture as a prosperous educational and entertainment event.

Death Claims Mrs Jobe Hale Hall in Beaver Community

Mrs. Jobe Hale Hall died Friday July 20 after a long illness from cancer. Funeral services were conducted by Rev L L Ghaw with interment in Beaver cemetery. She was a daughter of Mr and Mrs John Hole, a young widow who had married in 1906 and left no children. The community extends sympathy to her husband and relatives.

National Guard Volunteers Announced for Exams

Beaverton youths Zeke and Hill and others including Tom Boren Bruce Buck Harvey Floyd Lavan Lines and J H Smith volunteer for the National Guard. They will undergo examinations early next week as part of enlistment efforts with best wishes from the writer.
