Beaver Friends Celebrate Basil Peckham Marriage Near Gray
Beaver friends congratulate Basil Peckham and his bride formerly Miss Ella Bruton a local high school student, married that week at the bride's home near Gray. Miss Bmith daughter of O F Rmith sow manager of Probat Grain Co joined her father here and works at Davis drug store. Earl Wellborn formerly of Beaver died at Roswell New Mexico July 17th of tuberculosis. Mrs N B Davis had a short visit from sister Mia Tubb of Canadian Texas en route to Colorado on a motor outing.

Chautauqua Season Ends Amid Praise and Loss
The Beaver chautauqua of 1919 drew strong attendance, sold enough tickets to guarantee payments, and weather cooperated with occasional rain delays. Highlights included The Soldiers and Sailors Quartette, Belgian Company, Dr. Tincher and Dr. Shepherd lectures, The Old Fashioned Girls, and The American Orchestra, with Mrs Dabiman and others contributing. The season closed with plans for next year and a tribute to Mrs G W Wright, mother of Mrs C H Casky, who passed away after long illness. Junior chautauqua under Miss Story entertained many children, underscoring community benefits from the event.
