Edgar Raymond of Gray suffered serious injuries Tuesday after a mule kicked him at the Weet Bide Feed Yard. He drove in from the country and parked eight mules in the stalls, then went to food. He was hospitalized and is expected to recover.
Beaver High students Mildred Nicholson Hase McFarland Lala Meese Oltie Beauchamp Lenore Long and Lois Quine helped County Clerk Foater copy the 1088 draft registration cards without pay last week in a display of patriotic effort.
The community mourns A W Tooley of near Forgan who died Tuesday July 10 in a Wichita hospital from Bright's Disease. He was a two term state representative, a Mason and local booster with a large farm. The Herald extends sympathy to his wife and children as funeral plans are announced.
Stave by Gan Little Nellie Poilos, daughter of Mr and Mrs 1.8 Phelps, narrowly escaped serious injury when her fourteen year old brother John backed a Willye Knight car in their yard. The rear wheel grazed her head and body, leaving bruises but no broken bones. She was able to play afterward.
The people of Forgan led by Mrs. 0. A. Cathy and Mrs. W. Hi. Love are organizing a Red Cross Auxiliary. A mass meeting is called for tonight with Beaver Chapter members attending to assist in the formation.
Frank Noble suffered a painful accident on Tuesday while engaged in work. He broke two fingers and will be out of action for some time as nurses tend to his injured hand.
A big ball game between Beaver and Knowles is scheduled for Beaver on Saturday July 14. The event promises one of the best games of the season and baseball fans are urged to attend. A small admission fee of 15 and 28 cents will help the team defray expenses.
R A Maple and family of Mocane with Otto Barbey and Riverside relatives prepare an overland summer journey to Yellowstone Park. They will travel by car and camp with four wheel drive equipment and plan to spend the season sightseeing in Roskies.
