Firefighters were called to E. J. Horne and wife’s residence yesterday after a small blaze started by a defective flue. Soot ignited within the fire and dropped between the studs, catching lath and hiding, but the farmer’s efforts plus the brigade’s response prevented serious damage.

Feinberg Establishment Manager Heads to New York for Purchases

Ben Cooper, manager of Feinberg’s New York store, plans a weekend trip to New York and Philadelphia. He will buy a large spring stock for the shop and display elaborate new lines. Cooper will visit Philadelphia with his mother and other acquaintances and is not expected to return alone.

Death calls aged mother in Michigan obit

Mrs. D. Je Loofhourow received word of the death of her stepmother Mrs. Beade Uhade who passed away from the infirmities of old age. Corwin Wilton, son, was summoned to his mother’s bedside but arrived four hours after her death. Beaver friends extend sympathy to Mrs. Loofbourrow and Mr. Wilson in their loss.
