Notice to bidders by order of the Board of County Commissioners. The County Clerk will receive sealed bids for furnishing job work for the county. All bids must be in the hands of the County Clerk by February 1. The notice names Gro H Watata as County Clerk and references readers who renewed or started subscriptions including L J Sc Clair Nashville renewed and F G Tancohill Rockwood renewed.

The Trans county court house burned Sunday night in Texas. The building was a total loss with only a portion of the records saved. The fire is believed to have incendiary origins.
The Come Back Club entertained at their home on Saturday evening with a pleasant time and oysters served. Refugees of the May fire, now sheltered at the Court House, must move to new offices by February 1st due to a County Commissioners order. the move is inconvenient but accepted as necessary for county use.
A farewell reception was hosted at Judge and Mrs Rob Loof’s home on Monday evening for Prof and Mrs G W Meeks and Mrs Adam Smith who are leaving the city. The Ladies Circle and Presbyterian church members with friends attended. The event was pleasant and enjoyed by all attendees.
Alva based promoters planning a Winnipeg to Gal line and a Denver branch met county residents at the Court House. They outlined plans and expressed confidence in securing the road but noted Beaver County must mobilize locally with funding to advance the project.
Davis a mail carrier on the Elmwood route experienced a runaway when the neck yoke coupling broke near W. L. Mason's farm. The team bolted, the wagon overturned, and rider W. D. Bouman was thrown free and only slightly bruised along with Davis and Myr Davin who were shaken. The wagon suffered minor damage and no serious injuries occurred.
Beaver County Commissioners began the new term with the swearing in of Van Deburgh and Haskell, and the induction of new county officers at the Court House. They planned a busy agenda, approving bonds, appointing Justices of the Peace, clerks, and deputies, and authorizing purchases and adjournment to February 1.
At a Monday meeting the Bear County Commissioners designated the Herald as the official newspaper for legal publications and court proceedings. Board members say future court proceedings will be published to show how taxes are spent, who is paid, and for what purposes, aiming to increase public knowledge and accountability.
