A public exhortation urges unity and collective effort to build a better town in 1917. It contrasts cooperation with grouches and lacks of initiative, stressing loyalty, cohesion, and proactive deeds over mere promises.
Mrs. J. O. Judd of Beaver Oklahoma died December 24 1916 after a brief illness with typhoid at home. She leaves a husband six sons one daughter five deceased and three sisters. Floris Lewis nee Derthick died December 21 1916 in Pratt Kansas. Her funeral was in Forgan Oklahoma where she grew up. She was a daughter of Byron Derthick and is survived by grieving parents and friends.
The district court will sit without a jury on January 12 and January 18, 1917, to hear unspecified matters as directed by local judicial authorities. Proceedings are scheduled to proceed in the court chamber with available legal counsel in attendance.
Fickel reports January 1 1817 saw farm loan closings totaling 1020000. The Beaver County Abstract Office states business appears ready to improve and develop land in the new year.
