A local troupe presented the drama Plain People before a large Beaver audience, sharing proceeds with the Forman bands. About 45 dollars was raised, and the cast received hearty applause for their skilled performances. Participants include W. T. Quinn, W. J. Thomee, L. T. Shaw, H. M. Bueliek, Miss Ertin Crattrhe, Lydia Holm, Mrs. BO Tray Mop, and others.
Frank Laughers, president of the Bank of Beaver City, bought a new fixture net from Taloga for the upcoming building addition. Schools enjoy vacation time with students at home in the country. Principal Miss Virginia Wickham attends the State Teachers Association in Oklahoma City while Superintendent John B Swalm and Grammar School head Prof Clyde Green participate. Edna Tweedie and Miss Kaleen visit families, Beaver debates plan on legislative reform, and Little earlier Lene Wright plans Hooker debate trip. Beaver opens January 12 with renewed energy and the hope of finishing the year strongly.
The Marthas met December 19 with Mire. D. P. Miller. Officers elected: President, Mrs. Men. Vice-President, Mrs. 1. Secretary, Mrs. L. Shaw. Treasurer, Mrs. W. T. Quinn. A two course luncheon followed, green and white decor brightened the hall, retiring president Dr. W. T. Quinn received a gold and white token.
Frank Riggs, a Hoover Liberal Star Route mail carrier, sustained a broken leg after a team he won driving became unmanageable and ran away. He was thrown out, bruised, and injured just above the ankle. Carl Hetrick takes the route during his recovery.
T. G. Braidwood, deputy in the county treasurer’s office, received word from Washington of his appointment as rural route carrier. The route, formerly held by J. H. McCornl who moved to Kansas City, will be served by substitute T. Floyd until tomorrow January 2, 1914, when Braidwood takes over with a Ford touring car purchased from Frank Maple. He is praised as well qualified and patrons expect faithful service with few complaints.
