Andy Topinka of North Flute was shot in the face and breast during a Sunday hunt when a companion fled a hill crest. Dr. Long treated him. no serious injuries expected. Also notes Pad Mansfield’s Kentucky visit and J. L. Porter’s loss of feed and buggy to fire.
Local notices report sick residents, subscriptions, and family visits in Beaver. The town prepares for a court week and a theater show Scene in the Chicago Depot slated during court week. The First Methodist Episcopal Church in Beaver is dedicated with strong donations to clear a debt and a concert by Winfield College singers.
The Christian Endeavorers hold their regular monthly social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fickel Friday night. Mrs. Lightfoot and Mrs. Fickel will entertain. Endeavorers are urged to attend.
John George, a former Beaverite, plans to found a new town named Beaver City in Texas near Hansford on the proposed Enid Ochiltree and Western St. R. line. He remains tied to Beaver in his thoughts as the town takes its name.
A State Department letter lauds G. W. Meeks for thorough school visits in Beaver County Oklahoma and promises strong support if he maintains effort. The note urges adherence to new teaching certification requirements and outlines the county normal program with music instruction and enhanced curricula.
A Monday evening Hen party hosted by Miss Mae Maple honored George Washington and Miss Mae for birthdays. Attendees included Maude Stalling Mae Weir Erma Crabtree Kate Stewart Delia Albers Bertha Turner Edith Loofbourrow Maude Thomas. Games and a luncheon followed, with angel cake fruit salad coffee and mints served.
School records list student ranks by grade from 8 to 1 with names such as Ethel Smith Nella Summers Frank Horn and Bessie Kratzer among top positions. The document also names numerous students and family surnames including Summers Miles Meador Wellborn Loofburrow and Horn, reflecting a wide classroom cohort and extended lists of participants.

Mary and J L Todd were convicted of manslaughter after a trial moved from the county venue to Guymon. They faced a two year penitentiary sentence for criminal neglect and failure to obtain medical attendance for a young girl during childbirth. Cornelius Fox of eight miles west of town died Tuesday morning February 18 1908 in Amprill Texas after a long illness He was a prominent member of the 1 0 C F lodge and a respected citizen His body went to Englewood cemetery for burial interment took place Wednesday He leaves a family and many relatives to mourn the loss Leader Tribune Englewood Kas extends sympathy
W E Salter, a highly respected Guymon resident, died after being thrown from a delivery wagon when the horse bolted and struck a telephone pole. Clifford Moldine, who was driving, survived with injuries while Salter’s fatal fall fractured his skull and shoulder and caused internal injuries. Funeral held at the Presbyterian church with K of P lodge in attendance.
